Curious Fairy Wreath: Bamboo, Purple Amaranthus, Berries, Agate Druzy and Copper

This curious fairy sits whimsically along the edge of this bamboo wreath as she playfully reaches up to touch a floating sparkling green and gold natural agate druzy. Her hair flowing....she is quite comfortable exploring her surroundings.

Inspired by the beauty of draping amaranth, I combined soft hued purple amaranth accented with its green leaves and added them to a bamboo wreath frame. To add pop, I then added deep red colored berries to balance the overall look and feel. Please note that the berries' color is slightly deeper reddish/purple than what is shown in the picture due to the exposure used to show the overall wreath.

About the agate druzy:
Druzy stones are actual gemstones due to a natural occurrence of formed crystallization on the stone.

Meaning/Purpose of the stone:
Druzy is believed to be associated with peace, tranquillity, patience, intuition, and unconditional love. They amplify the body's natural healing properties and strengthen the spirit. The stones healing properties strengthen the circulatory and immune systems, and purifies the reproductive system.

Represents Immortality

The Making of the Wreath:
I began by sketching out the idea of the wreath after being inspired by a walk with my dog Frodo and seeing neighbors' flower pots and hanging flowers. As soon as we arrived home I began to gather my tools and materials. As usual before I begin to work on my art project, I prepare a cup of earl grey tea, turn on some Enya, and start to knead my polymer clay. Eventually, Curious Fairy begins to form. After cutting, shaping, smoothing, painting and lots of talking to/with...I then begin to fill in the wreath, following the initial sketch layout. To top things off, I choose the ribbon color and width, which ties in the overall color scheme, look and feel, that will secure the wreath for stability and durability. Copper wrapping has been added to further secure the ribbon to the wreath and the point at which it hangs from.
